Let’s Get Into It
Most people come to me because their body won’t stop. The symptoms that outlasted the diagnosis, the fatigue that rest doesn’t fix, the pain that moves around and doesn’t make sense on a scan, the food reactions that keep growing, the anxiety that lives in the chest no matter what the mind says. They’ve been through the medical system. They’ve tried the protocols. They’ve done the work, genuinely, and something is still stuck.
What I do is go to the layer underneath that.
Your nervous system is involved in every chronic symptom and lifestyle pattern you have. That part isn’t controversial anymore. What most practitioners miss is the question behind the question: why is your nervous system still activated? What has it been protecting you from, and for how long? In almost every person I’ve worked with, the answer points somewhere specific. To the life that was built around performing instead of being. To the version of yourself that learned, somewhere along the way, that who you actually are wasn’t quite safe enough to show.
Chronic illness, as brutal and unfair as it is, is almost always the body’s most honest communication. And healing it, really healing it, means listening to what it’s been trying to say.
That is what makes this work different from other nervous system programs, other brain retraining approaches, other chronic pain coaching. The tools are similar. The depth is not.
My Healing Journey
I’m a licensed somatic trauma therapist and nervous system coach based in Boulder, CO (Texas-raised, Colorado life). I’ve been a therapist for over ten years. I went to school wanting to work with teen girls, because a therapist helped me when I was deep in suicidal depression as a teen, and ended up going in a direction I didn’t entirely plan: deep into the body, deep into the places where chronic illness actually lives, and deep into my purpose of evolving myself in order to help others.
I developed chronic illness and suicidal depression early in life. I struggled and found recovery in many ways. Since then, I’ve had 2 big periods of pain/illness. Once in grad school when I first healed fibromyalgia and then about five years into my career, my own body stopped cooperating. Chronic fatigue, pain everywhere, histamine reactions I could time to the minute, mold toxicity, Epstein-Barr.
I did what every high-achiever does when something goes wrong. I researched, I specialised, I spent money, I followed protocols. I got a little better and then didn’t. What finally shifted things wasn’t a new supplement or a new diet. It was understanding that my nervous system had been in survival mode for a very long time, and that it had good reasons, reasons that had less to do with my immune system and more to do with who I’d been performing as.
I recovered. Then spent years training in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, Brainspotting, somatic practices, nervous system regulation, and everything in between, so I could teach this work with both the rigor of someone who knows the science and the honesty of someone who has actually been through it. I am always committed to my own self development and the return to my full self throughout life. You can bet I will always be learning more so I can evolve and help you too.
The goal here is not to get you back to who you were before you got sick. The person who got sick was running on something that wasn’t sustainable. The goal is to bring you forward, into the version of yourself that doesn’t have to hold everything together, doesn’t have to earn rest, doesn’t have to perform okayness to be loved. The one who knows the difference between what the body is saying and what the fear is saying. The one who actually gets to have their life.
Your symptoms are not your identity. And they are not your enemy. They are the most coherent thing your body knew how to do given everything it was carrying. When you understand that, something changes. And the changing, in my experience, tends to go a lot further than people expected.
