[00:00:03] I'm your host, Grace Secker, and I'm a holistic licensed therapist and nervous system coach
[00:00:08] who believes that the chronic and often unseen symptoms you're living with are a sign of
[00:00:12] something deeper going on.
[00:00:14] A sign that your nervous system needs attention.
[00:00:17] In each episode, I'll share the science behind the most common chronic health disorders
[00:00:21] plus holistic health tips using mental, physical, and spiritual practices.
[00:00:26] You'll hear what I've learned in my journey and the true stories from our trusted
[00:00:29] guests so you can feel less alone in your experience and give yourself grace no matter
[00:00:34] what you're going through.
[00:00:36] So without further ado, settle in and get cozy, it's time to Heal With Grace.
[00:00:42] Hello and welcome to Heal With Grace podcast.
[00:00:45] I am your host, Grace, and I am so excited to be able to start this podcast.
[00:00:50] This has been in the background for a while and I am pouring all of my heart and passion
[00:00:54] and soul into this project.
[00:00:57] This podcast is all about mental, physical, and spiritual health.
[00:01:00] We'll be talking through the difficult and beautiful journey of life when you're dealing
[00:01:03] with any kind of chronic mental or physical condition.
[00:01:06] My mission in this world is to bring the principles of healing that are not mainstreamed
[00:01:10] yet that are incredibly powerful and backed by science-based research.
[00:01:15] I want you to know that healing is possible and that you don't have to suffer forever
[00:01:19] no matter what you're going through.
[00:01:21] I'm here to help you feel seen, connected, and give you the tools to self-heal.
[00:01:26] We'll talk about holistic healing, what that even means, and how to do it in an accessible
[00:01:30] way that doesn't break the bank or overwhelm you.
[00:01:33] This is a place for you to find yourself again, or really better yet, create yourself, create
[00:01:38] the life that you want to live.
[00:01:40] Again, my name is Grace and I'm a trained holistic psychotherapist, yoga therapist,
[00:01:45] nervous system coach, pain reprocessing therapist, trained Reiki energy healer,
[00:01:50] and lover of outdoor adventure.
[00:01:52] I am committed to holistically healing on this journey we call life.
[00:01:56] I'm going to share with you stories of people who have found the other side of pain and give
[00:02:01] you the science-based tools to help you find healing.
[00:02:03] I'm also going to talk about my journey and how I've gotten here.
[00:02:07] The whole reason that I am a therapist is because therapy saved my life and you'll
[00:02:12] learn a little bit more about that.
[00:02:13] And now this podcast is not just about me, but I truly do believe that hearing stories
[00:02:19] from people that are relatable and very similar to yourself have got, and they've gotten to
[00:02:24] a place where they're in a more grounded place in their health and don't suffer so much
[00:02:30] anymore can really, really help us know that's helped me.
[00:02:34] I also want you to know that I strive to be authentic, relatable and real.
[00:02:39] And this is a place where I want to share the rawness of what it's like to go through
[00:02:45] your healing journey.
[00:02:46] Just because I've done all this work and that I'm going to share with you all the tools
[00:02:50] that I have learned and I'm trained in, it doesn't mean that I don't still suffer.
[00:02:54] Right?
[00:02:55] So I'm going to share that and I'm going to share that stories of other people as
[00:02:58] well.
[00:02:59] I'm going to give you the actual tools and then sometimes we're going to do a little
[00:03:02] bit of a practice.
[00:03:03] I come from a strong mindfulness background, so I might lead you through a little
[00:03:07] bit of a meditation or a breath practice or something like that and truly believe
[00:03:12] that healing can't just be talked about.
[00:03:14] It has to be very much so experienced.
[00:03:18] I am an experiential therapist, which means that we have to feel and go through an
[00:03:24] order to come out the other side.
[00:03:26] I know it's cliche, but you got to go through the woods to get to the other
[00:03:29] side.
[00:03:30] You can't go around it.
[00:03:31] So what does that mean to go through this?
[00:03:34] What does it mean to go through healing?
[00:03:36] What does it mean to go through grief, chronic illness, pain, anxiety, depression?
[00:03:42] We have to go through and be with the experience in order to come out the
[00:03:46] other side, in order to get stronger and wiser and deeper and our authentic
[00:03:52] connection with ourself.
[00:03:54] So just as much as this podcast is about self-healing and really me
[00:03:59] empowering you with the tools to help you heal for yourself, within
[00:04:05] yourself, it's also about community and it's also about connection.
[00:04:11] I truly believe that we are not meant to do this life alone.
[00:04:15] Actually, we'll talk about it, but primal instincts say that literally
[00:04:20] we're not meant to live alone.
[00:04:21] We are meant to be in connection with others.
[00:04:24] Our survival depends on being connected with others.
[00:04:27] And so I want this to be more of a community for you, to where you can
[00:04:31] find connection, you can find inspiration, you can find hope.
[00:04:34] That's where I have found it, in connection with other people.
[00:04:38] So I'm going to share the people's stories.
[00:04:39] I'm going to have other people come on here.
[00:04:41] So it's not just about me.
[00:04:43] Just as I strive to be relatable and authentic, I really hope that you
[00:04:47] continue to join me every week as I dive into topics surrounding things
[00:04:51] like mental health, trauma, chronic illness, nervous system regulation, brain
[00:04:57] training, spirituality, and truly holistically healing mind, body and spirit.
[00:05:03] Now you probably have found me, well, in many different ways, but I am
[00:05:08] very much so known for nervous system regulation.
[00:05:10] And so we're going to talk a lot about that and what that really means
[00:05:13] because at the core of health, that really is at the core of our bodies,
[00:05:17] core of our health and healing and understanding what that actually means
[00:05:22] and whatever you're dealing with.
[00:05:24] So I've healed myself through many different things, mental health,
[00:05:28] physical health, and that's what I specialize in.
[00:05:30] I specialize in working with people to retrain the reins,
[00:05:34] regulate their nervous systems, and heal from trauma.
[00:05:37] And so I actually want to take a second and talk about the word healing.
[00:05:41] What does heal actually mean?
[00:05:44] Because it can have a connotation of, OK, if you're healed,
[00:05:47] everything that's wrong is behind you and everything that's good
[00:05:51] and that you're over something is in front of you.
[00:05:54] So heal, it's in my name, right?
[00:05:56] Heal with grace.
[00:05:58] Heal is not about a destination.
[00:06:00] I don't truly believe that there is a destination to get to
[00:06:03] in this life when it comes to our health.
[00:06:05] At the same time, I very much so believe because I've experienced myself
[00:06:10] and I see it time and time again in my practice and with my clients
[00:06:13] that we can truly raise the bar time and time again.
[00:06:18] Your baseline of your health right now is at a place that maybe
[00:06:23] it's not so great, maybe you've been struggling for a while.
[00:06:26] Maybe you've raised that baseline and you're looking for a little bit
[00:06:28] of more elevation and your healing.
[00:06:31] Either way, we have a baseline in our health and our nervous system.
[00:06:35] Some people call it a frequency level.
[00:06:37] Some people call it a physical baseline, mental baseline, whatever it is.
[00:06:40] We just call a general baseline in our health.
[00:06:43] We can keep raising that over and over and over again.
[00:06:46] Some people call it elevating consciousness, just getting
[00:06:49] to a better health baseline, right?
[00:06:51] There's many different words for it, which we can dive into.
[00:06:54] At the same time, each baseline that you raise, there's always going
[00:06:57] to be struggles that we go through in life, just like all the emotions
[00:07:03] and are acceptable in life, meaning that we can't just have good emotions
[00:07:07] or just have bad emotions.
[00:07:08] We have all emotions, the same goes with life.
[00:07:11] Like there's going to be bad times.
[00:07:12] There's going to be good times.
[00:07:14] There's going to be hard times, sad times, joyful.
[00:07:17] All of the experiences of life are completely open and acceptable.
[00:07:22] And we want to get to a place where that's okay, because that's natural.
[00:07:26] That's life.
[00:07:27] The thing that creates more suffering is when we connect
[00:07:32] to and attach to these difficult times in life and we can't seem to move
[00:07:36] through it and we get really stuck.
[00:07:39] So what I want to help you with is to get unstuck.
[00:07:42] Get unstuck in your health to help you continue to move through
[00:07:45] whatever experience you're going through.
[00:07:47] Because again, each baseline that you get to, you're going to go
[00:07:51] through something difficult in life, but I don't want that thing
[00:07:54] to keep you stuck and drag you down and create more turmoil and suffering.
[00:07:59] That's what we're going to talk about.
[00:08:01] How to get unstuck, how to find more peace and love and security and just
[00:08:07] groundedness in your body and your mind.
[00:08:10] I hope that you join me each week as we dive into all these wonderful
[00:08:13] topics of holistic healing.
[00:08:15] My name is Grace.
[00:08:16] You're a relatable holistic healing therapist and I
[00:08:19] excited to have you on this journey with me.
[00:08:23] If this podcast means something to you, it would mean so much to me
[00:08:26] if you could do these couple things.
[00:08:28] One, go to the Heal With Grace Show page wherever you listen
[00:08:31] and tap the plus sign or click on the follow button so you don't

[00:08:37] While you're there, if you could give a five star review
[00:08:40] so that this podcast can reach more people, it would mean so much to me
[00:08:44] so I can continue sharing episodes that help you as well as others.
[00:08:49] Thanks for listening and I hope this brings you hope on your journey.
