[00:00:06] who helps female high achievers optimize energy and well-being through functional labs,
[00:00:10] human design, and subconscious reprogramming, empowering them to thrive and amplify their
[00:00:16] impact in business and life. I really love our conversation because you know how I talk about
[00:00:21] on here where I love functional medicine and how holistic living in terms of like
[00:00:27] being conscious of what we put in our bodies and on our bodies but also we don't want to go too far
[00:00:33] down that rabbit hole because not everything is physically based and our mental and emotional
[00:00:37] health has such an impact on our physical health, right? So that's the whole basis for so much of
[00:00:42] what this work is and Hope really embodies that especially from a functional practitioner
[00:00:49] standpoint. So I absolutely love that she's being able to speak from her training as a
[00:00:55] physical practitioner as well as energy and emotions and genetics and trauma and she really
[00:01:02] helps put it all together and so I know that you're going to get a lot out of this and I'm
[00:01:07] really excited. Also by the way we talk about human design. I'm going to link below the episode
[00:01:12] that I did with Charlotte Wright on human design and a link to figure out yours. I highly
[00:01:17] recommend if you don't know your human design it's really quick. You can figure it out in
[00:01:21] like five minutes probably one minute actually on the human design website that's linked below
[00:01:26] to help you understand exactly what that is what that means and as we go into today's episode
[00:01:32] it's not a must don't worry you can always save this and come back to it but as she talks about
[00:01:37] it's a really important tool to help understand ourselves. Okay without further ado here we go.
[00:01:45] Hey there and welcome to Heal with Grace. I'm your host Grace Secker and I'm a holistic
[00:01:50] licensed therapist and nervous system coach who believes that the chronic and often unseen symptoms
[00:01:55] you're living with are a sign of something deeper going on a sign that your nervous system needs
[00:02:00] attention. In each episode I'll share the science behind the most common chronic health
[00:02:05] disorders plus holistic health tips using mental physical and spiritual practices.
[00:02:10] You'll hear what I've learned in my journey and the true stories from our trusted guests
[00:02:14] so you can feel less alone in your experience and give yourself grace no matter what you're
[00:02:19] going through so without further ado settle in and get cozy it's time to heal with grace.
[00:02:26] Hello Hope thank you so much for joining me today I'm really excited for our conversation.
[00:02:31] Thanks Grace I'm excited to be here. Yeah so you've been on quite the journey it seems like
[00:02:37] from Pilates to functional nutrition to energy work and tell us a little bit about how that
[00:02:42] all came together like where are you now and how did you get here? Yeah yeah so I started
[00:02:48] in with my Pilates studio so this year I celebrated 14 years having my brick and mortar Pilates studio
[00:02:54] and I wanted to create a space that had that was everything in one place so you could get you know
[00:03:00] we had the movement and we had the mindfulness and I wanted to create a space where people could
[00:03:03] come from for nutrition support so I started out with just basic nutrition coaching so it was
[00:03:10] you know people mostly women were coming to me I wanted to drop five pounds or ten pounds
[00:03:14] or whatever it is and when I'm working with these women I'm seeing that the conversations that needed
[00:03:20] to be had needed to go deeper than just talking about calories and macros and so that kind of pushed
[00:03:27] me down the path of becoming a functional practitioner and really being able to dive in
[00:03:31] deeper and looking at the gut the hormones the inflammation all those things really getting
[00:03:35] to the root cause and then as I was kind of going through my own personal journey and kind
[00:03:41] of you know as you know this as a business owner you evolve and your business evolves as you evolve
[00:03:45] as a human and so with my own kind of personal evolution and kind of diving into my own healing
[00:03:51] journey and my own spiritual journey I was also recognizing that yes running the labs is cool
[00:03:56] and running the labs gives a lot of really good data and I'm really helping people get to the
[00:04:00] root cause but I'm seeing that actually the real root cause of these physical things
[00:04:06] happening on the body have this energetic emotional source and so I wanted to be able to
[00:04:11] address that and really I always hesitate using the word holistic it's such a fluffy
[00:04:16] often meaningless word these days but really looking at things holistically like whol like
[00:04:21] looking at the whole body we have to look at the physical the mental emotional spiritual
[00:04:26] and so that pushed me down the path of studying human design and getting into
[00:04:30] becoming an LP practitioner using clinical therapy and raking all the the energy things
[00:04:35] that I do now and just really putting the whole equation together and looking at the whole person
[00:04:41] the whole body and not just one aspect of that I absolutely love that you're talking about this
[00:04:47] because it seems like at least from my experience and the people that I help and I very much so
[00:04:53] love functional medicine and also can totally see where we just go down this long rabbit hole
[00:05:00] of physical symptoms and what's wrong with the body right and we kind of forget
[00:05:03] to look at everything else especially mental emotional health so I love that you're bringing
[00:05:08] all this together because it's not often talked about it's like kind of this either or in a way
[00:05:13] it's either the physical not just traditional western but functional is just one aspect of it
[00:05:18] right and then some people think because I'm a therapist I only focus on the mental
[00:05:22] emotional health and disregard the physical it's not true right it all matters yeah for sure
[00:05:27] okay what was the first thing you started to recognize in terms of how emotions affect
[00:05:31] the body or how people's personalities right like with human design affect the body like how
[00:05:36] how did that all come about yeah I think it probably started with with my own journey
[00:05:40] with that and when I so I found human design I was working with a business coach she was a
[00:05:45] spiritual business coach and she wasn't a human design coach but she had this really
[00:05:49] just a small piece of our work together with human design and it was enough to get
[00:05:52] me interested where I was like oh gosh like I gotta know more about this this is just
[00:05:56] blowing my mind so I think it was with my own journey of human design and understanding
[00:06:01] me and my energy and then recognizing where I had all these internal patterns and programs
[00:06:08] that were running in in me out of like DNA level that were perpetuating a lot of the
[00:06:15] physical things I was dealing with I had my own journey as a kid with gut things and that's
[00:06:19] been a constant journey I've in and out of different doctors and hospitals I had
[00:06:24] half a dozen colonoscopies before I was probably 12 years old all for them to say like oh it's IBS
[00:06:29] which is a really BS diagnosis so that was my I had my own journey with my gut health
[00:06:34] and then I also had my own journey with my relationship with food and had emotional
[00:06:38] disorder eating behavior for a while for years of course that was all tied to the IBS of
[00:06:43] course didn't know that at the time and so I had this again these patterns of programming
[00:06:48] that I was recognizing I was going through my journey and then and then being able to
[00:06:52] take that in my body oh this is why my gut is doing this this is why my adrenals are like in
[00:06:57] the toilet and I haven't been able to function optimally and who knows how long so just connecting
[00:07:03] those pieces and recognizing like how energy was flowing through me and where I was where the
[00:07:08] blocks were like where the the blockages and the stagnation was and that energy in the body
[00:07:12] and recognizing how that was showing up is in my body you have a very similar story to many
[00:07:16] of the listeners here going down a long road of physical treatments that don't actually really
[00:07:22] work being told a bunch of different things that are put on or stopped with like a syndrome right
[00:07:27] or something like IBS chronic pain things that don't actually really have much
[00:07:33] right yeah exactly and so a lot of times yeah you feel stuck right until you can get to
[00:07:41] this place of like oh it all kind of fits together and I'm just curious what's your human design
[00:07:45] I'm a manifesting generator okay I'm a projector okay and I'm the very similar in terms of when I
[00:07:55] first realized it I was like oh it explains so much yeah my mind I love it I dive into it all
[00:08:03] the time I've learned so much because so much of what we need is to help understand ourselves more
[00:08:07] exactly right so how did that fit how did that fit in for you in terms of learning about
[00:08:13] yourself more what did you learn that helped you work through some of the physical so I there is
[00:08:19] there's a few things like just knowing your type can be life changing like just understanding that
[00:08:24] one aspect of course we know there's five thousand probably more than that rabbit holes you can go
[00:08:29] down in human design but for me just starting there was part of it and understanding you know
[00:08:35] as a manifesting generator I'm here to be multi-passionate and multifaceted and
[00:08:39] I know for years in my business I was trying to like stick myself in a box like who just folks
[00:08:44] I was getting so frustrated with myself like just focus on one thing like just do one thing
[00:08:48] and I had all these unfinished I would start projects and not finish them be like oh I can't
[00:08:52] you just finish what you started so there's all this frustration that I was experiencing and
[00:08:56] recognizing like oh okay I am designed to operate like this I'm not designed to operate in a straight
[00:09:01] line like manifesting generators are we don't like being put in boxes there's not a linear
[00:09:07] path that we follow it's like squirrel brain everywhere but that's just how we're designed
[00:09:11] to operate and we're only here to do what lights us up and when it's no longer lighting us up we
[00:09:16] set it down and we move on to the next thing and so there is a lot of shame and guilt around
[00:09:21] even just those pieces in my body I was feeling trying to and I had worked with
[00:09:27] tons of business coaches at this point who wanted me to stick do it this way and do it this
[00:09:32] way and it didn't feel good in my body and I didn't know why so I think that was another this
[00:09:37] just the freedom around that of like oh now I understand why this didn't feel good to me
[00:09:41] and doing it this way didn't feel good to me and it was just so much frustration I guess I mean
[00:09:47] that's my not self-esteem as a manager frustration but frustration and it just kind of
[00:09:52] impatience and anger that would come up around those things where I was like
[00:09:56] you know being second to act so I think that was a big thing and then I think the other
[00:10:00] aspect the profile lines I think are also really powerful understanding your profile lines I'm a
[00:10:05] three five and so the three line for me the three is the great experimenter and I feel like I have
[00:10:12] you know when learning when I was learning human design I had fallen on my face five
[00:10:15] thousand times in business my personal life I had been through divorce and lawsuits and all
[00:10:20] kinds of stuff in my business and now I'm like oh and you know all the pieces kind of start
[00:10:24] coming together and it's for me it was shifting my perception of what it means to like experiment in
[00:10:31] life and not see things as failures but as you know opportunities similar which I know sounds very
[00:10:36] like you know but to really embody that is is a big deal and it's hard it's not easy and I've
[00:10:42] plenty of days where I'm like screw this three line thing this sucks but it's it's a piece of
[00:10:48] me and I think you know I by learning my human designer I have this new found like compassion
[00:10:57] and appreciation for myself and who I am so I can I can look at that through a different lens and
[00:11:02] like oh this part of me sucks and look at it through a different lens of like okay this is a piece of
[00:11:06] me so how can I use that as a strength rather than a weakness or see it as a challenge
[00:11:11] yeah I just realized that we didn't exactly describe what human design is I have a previous
[00:11:16] episode on it but a while back so can you give our listeners an idea of like what we're talking
[00:11:20] about for those of you who are like what the heck are you all talking about yeah so human design
[00:11:24] in simple terms is basically your energetic blueprint and so it's designed to explain
[00:11:30] help you understand how your energy moves through your body how you're here to interact
[00:11:33] with the world around you and people around you and so it combines some ancient teachings
[00:11:38] like the chakra system the acching astrology and it puts it together with some more modern
[00:11:42] day sciences like quantum mechanics and quantum physics and neuroscience and puts it together
[00:11:47] in this really cool chart so you can understand how your energy is designed to flow and move
[00:11:52] and you know the lessons you're here to learn how you're meant to make decisions and it's
[00:11:56] really just all about how your energy is designed to flow in this life yeah and it can be really
[00:12:00] powerful because the whole point is that every person has their own their own mechanisms their
[00:12:05] own energy blueprint right and everyone needs is probably not the right word but is you know
[00:12:11] it's designed to be in their own right not like someone else's but their own and we all can appreciate
[00:12:16] that that's what I love about human design it's really about coming home to yourself and honoring
[00:12:21] the truth of who you are and the way that you operate exactly it yeah and so how did that help
[00:12:28] you understand or maybe heal from some of the physical like chronic stuff that you dealt with
[00:12:35] yeah I think for me it was and this is how I see it with my clients we we're looking at the lens
[00:12:42] or looking at wellness through the lens of human design we spend a lot of time and energy
[00:12:48] and think energy is really what I want to say we spend a lot of energy being someone that we
[00:12:53] are not designed to be kind of like what you're just saying like we wear a mask we and we wear
[00:12:58] these these identities that either we've been conditioned to believe are correct for us
[00:13:03] through society or family or generations whatever it is and when that is not in alignment with who we
[00:13:08] are designed like at a sole cellular level to be we're going to meet resistance and that resistance
[00:13:14] inside eventually is going to manifest on the outside right it's going to show up as physical
[00:13:17] symptoms and so for me it's it's being able to understand where that resistance is in the
[00:13:23] body like where are the the areas where we call a deconditioning human design right where
[00:13:27] are the areas that need to be deconditioned the areas that we're holding onto patterns
[00:13:31] and beliefs that are not ours but we're still caring and we're operating from that that operating
[00:13:37] system moving from that operating system and so I think for me it was letting go of a lot of the
[00:13:42] things that I mentioned before it was letting go of those pieces of how I thought I needed to
[00:13:47] operate how I thought I needed to do things how I thought I needed to be and stepping into
[00:13:53] this true identity this how I'm designed how I'm divinely designed and and need just that
[00:13:59] you know we talk about life force energy like just that allows that free-full life force energy
[00:14:03] because you know I mentioned the shocker system is involved in human design and the shocker is
[00:14:06] like this it's it's energy right each of these energy centers is energy and they all move
[00:14:12] together and so when there is a blockage in one it's not just affecting that one they all
[00:14:17] affect each other and so it's removing what's causing that stagnation or blockage or whatever
[00:14:24] it is and allowing that life force to move through the body and from there if anyone listening is
[00:14:29] familiar with the shocker system they're all correlated to specific organs glands in the body
[00:14:34] that are responsible for emitting specific hormones and so this is how the this you know science
[00:14:40] meets physical body spiritual meets physical body that's how it works and according to
[00:14:45] traditional Chinese medicine that the the balance of yin and yang and the body starts in the
[00:14:49] endocrine system so that's that for me that's how it's all connected it's understanding your
[00:14:52] energy centers the connections to the physical body that your energy centers have and it's
[00:14:57] working with those to bring that life force energy back into the body so it's flowing
[00:15:02] that's a really helpful explanation of probably kind of how it fits together and so
[00:15:08] how do you you talk a lot about like mineral imbalance hormones and emotional energy
[00:15:12] how do all those fit together and maybe you kind of explain it but can you expand on that
[00:15:15] yeah yeah a little bit so so kind of going back to what i was saying with the looking at the hormones
[00:15:20] in the energy centers so all your energy centers are correlated with specific organs and glands
[00:15:26] and all of those so actually let me back up minerals are considered the spark plugs in the
[00:15:31] body right every reaction in the body involves minerals whether they're the catalyst or the
[00:15:36] cofactor they're involved in some way shape or form and so every hormone and neurotransmitter
[00:15:41] and enzyme and and peptide like all of these things in the body require minerals to work
[00:15:47] or to to get formed or they're involved and so when we're looking at like I was saying that
[00:15:52] that kind of connection between the physical body and the energetic body looking at the energy
[00:15:56] centers all of these energy centers are emitting hormones they're sponsored with their glands
[00:16:01] or no hormones and all of those require minerals so for me it's like such it's this easy
[00:16:07] integration of looking at okay i'm looking at your human design and i'm seeing you know these
[00:16:11] specific centers are where you know some of the patterns are showing up these specific centers
[00:16:16] are associated with these glands in your body now we can look at okay these are the minerals
[00:16:20] want to prioritize to help with the physical body and start to help things operating optimally
[00:16:25] okay so can you give an example of someone actually let's talk about gut issues ibs maybe
[00:16:32] like pelvic pain that area of the body what would that be associated with yeah yeah so
[00:16:37] i will say the three most common centers that i find in balances actually i'll start with the one
[00:16:42] first the very the first the top one is your sacral center your sacral center is the center
[00:16:47] for life force for creativity for sexuality and it's correlated with your reproductive
[00:16:52] glands reproductive organs and this is the one i see issues with the most as women for women
[00:17:00] because well for there's a lot of reasons this is a rabbit hole that what i could talk about for
[00:17:03] hours there's a lot of reasons for that but it is the most common where i see in balances and so
[00:17:08] if we're looking at okay there's issues with your sacral center we're looking at reproductive
[00:17:13] organs so now we want to look at okay what glands do we want to support what minerals do we
[00:17:17] want to support to help those particular things we would look at things like magnesium we would
[00:17:22] look at potassium we would look at zinc maybe selenium so we'd look at specific minerals
[00:17:26] that are going to help the reproductive organs two more the root center which is associated with
[00:17:32] your adrenals and then the solar plexus which is a handful of different detox organs so like our
[00:17:38] detox pathways are connected to the solar plexus these two and men and women this is
[00:17:45] very common in balances here and if we know like the root center is considered a pressure
[00:17:50] center so it's the pressure to to initiate to get things done because it's associated with
[00:17:54] their adrenals our adrenals are associated with our stress response and so so many women I deal with
[00:18:00] you know high performing women who are dealing with burnout or have dealt with burnout or
[00:18:04] they're like i don't want to go back there again and this is always a place we look at like how
[00:18:09] are you operating from your root center because it's directly affecting your adrenals
[00:18:14] and your stress response in your body so that's a that's another big one what would that look
[00:18:18] like like someone operating from the root center that's that's burnout and then and
[00:18:22] then what would you do to help that yeah so in human design when you're looking at your chart
[00:18:27] there's all these different shapes right there those are all your energy centers and they're
[00:18:31] either colored in like filled in a color or they're white so if it's defined it's colored in
[00:18:35] if it's undefined then it's white it's not colored in so your energy is going to move a little
[00:18:40] bit different whether you're defined or undefined when it's defined this is where you have consistent
[00:18:45] access to this energy so your energy is more consistent you're more definitive and firm
[00:18:51] and that energy in that center when it's undefined when it's open and there's more fluidity and you're
[00:18:55] basically kind of absorbing other people's energy in that center and kind of potentially taking on
[00:19:01] things that are no longer or are not yours and it's really the biggest opportunities for the
[00:19:06] deconditioning because we we have absorbed other people's energies that sometimes it's
[00:19:10] hard for us to discern you know what's ours and what someone else is so for the root center
[00:19:14] if your center is defined the pressure to get things done and to start and to initiate things
[00:19:19] is an internal pressure so it's coming from inside it's like I need to do this it's coming from inside
[00:19:24] of you and it's kind of it's going to look like pushing it this is where it looks like pushing
[00:19:31] and pushing and not knowing when to stop because it's like you're kind of disconnected from that
[00:19:34] internal um like signal for to tell you when to stop when it's undefined it's open I have
[00:19:40] like I have a my root center is undefined it's an external pressure so it's this external
[00:19:45] pressure to get things done or to like keep up like feeling like I'm going to get behind because
[00:19:49] everybody else is going faster than me and getting ahead so that's kind of how the energy there's a
[00:19:53] nuance there it's very slight but it's a nuance there and that's what it looks like the burnout
[00:19:57] is it I feel like I'm getting behind and I have to keep up with everybody else or is
[00:20:01] it's internal pressure where I know I'm disconnected from my signal to tell me when to stop
[00:20:05] yeah okay so then it's really more about just understand like learning about yourself not
[00:20:10] only through premium design but obviously from where you've been burned out totally yeah and
[00:20:15] shifting how you operate in the world and probably not only in the world but with yourself
[00:20:19] exactly yep a hundred percent yeah so why are so many high achievers so burnout in terms of
[00:20:29] not in terms of but what would you say is like a very common theme regardless of maybe they're
[00:20:35] undefined or defined mm-hmm yeah here's what I think there's multiple things here I could say
[00:20:41] first I want to say the majority of humans are generator types are either generators or
[00:20:46] manifesting generators 60 of the population is either a generator generator or manifesting
[00:20:51] generator and those two types are the doers so we are I say weeks I'm a manifesting generator
[00:20:57] we are sacral beings and the sacral is like the generator that keeps going this is where
[00:21:02] your your ability to keep doing the thing and so we have that defined meaning we have
[00:21:07] consistent access to that we don't have to borrow it from somebody else we're not picking up on
[00:21:11] anybody else's from there so because of that you especially use a projector I've worked with
[00:21:16] so many my son is a projector and I've worked with so many projectors I just I love projectors
[00:21:21] and you projectors reflectors manifestors live in a world of generators so there's
[00:21:26] pressure you feel the pressure to constantly be doing because you're surrounded by it
[00:21:31] so there's a lot of societal pressure to do and do and do and do and go and go because we're
[00:21:36] stranded by generators now there's another piece of this again another rabbit hole I could probably
[00:21:40] talk about for the next 12 hours but there's also this the masculine way of doing things like
[00:21:45] there's hustle culture which is a masculine construct that's also this go go go do do do
[00:21:49] because men are on the 24-hour hormonal cycle and women have a 28-day hormonal cycle so men
[00:21:55] can wake up tomorrow do the same thing they did today and women doesn't work like that so
[00:21:59] there's multiple I think there's multiple reasons for this and I think the the big and I think the
[00:22:03] overarching theme there is kind of what you were saying before it's not understanding your energy
[00:22:11] and how your energy design to flow and your natural rhythms everyone has your own natural
[00:22:15] rhythms hormonal rhythms energy rhythms everybody every human and so it's just not
[00:22:20] understanding those and I guess kind of what we were saying at the beginning of this it's
[00:22:23] that disconnect that we compartmentalized the mind and the body and the soul and we haven't been able
[00:22:29] to bring all of those pieces together we've become so disconnected that we we either misinterpret
[00:22:36] signals that that we feel like we're getting we're not in tune with the signals and signs and
[00:22:41] the rhythms in our body so I think I really think that's kind of the overarching thing
[00:22:45] doesn't matter what type what energy type you are but it's just being able to understand
[00:22:50] that understand your natural rhythms understand how your energy and your hormones work period
[00:22:56] that I think that's the big piece I mean I've worked with limba for that they they don't even
[00:23:01] this is no judgment I don't say this with judgment they have never they've never understood
[00:23:04] how their period works they have no idea the phases of their cycle it's just not something
[00:23:08] and I know I was never taught that so I again I could say without judgment because I was
[00:23:11] ever taught that so it's even just understanding how your hormones work like my my own body that
[00:23:17] I'm in like just understanding that piece I think is a really big reason why so many
[00:23:22] of us burn out I've never learned that I've learned so many things on my own right it's so
[00:23:27] valuable when we can and yeah especially as a projector I have learned so much of how to get
[00:23:35] out of the generator energy and the energy of the world and like what's primed us what what
[00:23:39] we're praised for right at the same time man I still very much struggle with it because I
[00:23:44] have this fire within me to to do and do and do and then and I'm like well yeah I'm burning off
[00:23:49] right so that's hard um yeah it's hard when you also have a vision of what you want right
[00:23:56] but how you want to get there or how getting there is different for each person yes for sure
[00:24:01] for sure yeah yeah okay I feel like yeah we could go in so many different directions
[00:24:07] I think the other thing I wanted to add to that there's another piece to that
[00:24:11] that especially for women is there's the hustle part and the doing part and when we
[00:24:19] began I just had a conversation about this earlier to it on another podcast it's so it's
[00:24:23] like front of mind it there's there's this identity piece that comes in because then
[00:24:29] it's the where we're so caught up in the doing and the pushing and the forcing that now it's
[00:24:35] an identity and once it becomes your identity it's that like you were saying you know it's
[00:24:39] hard it's that much harder to break the pattern when it's your identity because now it no longer
[00:24:43] feels safe what feels safe is doing this is pushing enforcing and doing even though when
[00:24:47] I know my body's telling me to slow down and so it's I mean there's like a complete identity
[00:24:52] shift that has to happen oftentimes and that's really freaking hard it's that's the hard work
[00:24:58] and I think that's another reason why so many of us struggle with burnout we get in burnout
[00:25:03] we get stuck in burnout is it's this identity shift that needs to happen and it's a whole rewiring
[00:25:09] I mean you know this you work so much with them it's this whole rewiring that has to happen in
[00:25:14] order for you to have that identity shift and then I think everything we don't talk about
[00:25:17] with that is there's this this grieving process that happens during that identity shift
[00:25:22] because you have to let go of this part of you that you know is not good for you you
[00:25:26] know it's not serving you and you step into this new identity and there's just a lot to
[00:25:30] that so I think there's so much internal stuff that has to go on for us to really be able to step
[00:25:35] out of the burnout and what's on the other side of the burnout and it's it's not as easy as like
[00:25:40] oh just get more sleep and don't be stressed and slow down like it's it's not that simple
[00:25:45] yeah no definitely not especially for people that are listening burnout means like
[00:25:49] deep chronic symptoms that are keeping them from their life right and yeah I don't know
[00:25:55] about you but for me feel like I have multiple different identity shifts throughout my life
[00:26:00] and it's not just like one random awake or random one awakening right where you change
[00:26:05] and you're like oh I'm regulated and now I'm good it's like I can point to so many different
[00:26:10] years of oh here's a whole new one and but I didn't understand it right so that shifting
[00:26:17] out of the stress place of regulate of your nervous system and then shifting into a new
[00:26:21] identity in a way you don't really exactly know that you're going through that it's not
[00:26:26] like this conscious place of like okay I'm shifting my identity I am going to be safer now I'm
[00:26:31] my nervous system a little bit with the nervous system stuff because there's so much education
[00:26:34] around it but you don't know that exactly it's just kind of how you're working through it do you
[00:26:40] talk to people about it or how do you talk to people about it yeah I think well I think you
[00:26:45] brought up a really great point and I think it's something that I feel like we should be
[00:26:48] talking about more because you're right it's not this one and done thing when you're going
[00:26:52] through like the healing and the identity ship because it's there's layers to it there's multiple
[00:26:57] layers and it's kind of like when I've had clients who've done you know hypnosis sessions with me and
[00:27:02] they're afraid that they're going to be re traumatized and it's not about re traumatizing
[00:27:06] yourself it's not about reliving the trauma it's about getting in to providing a safe space
[00:27:11] in the body for your conscious mind to kind of step aside to go into the subconscious mind
[00:27:18] to be able to have a conversation and your subconscious mind is going to let you know
[00:27:21] what's safe to let go of and so this is why all of this is so multi-layered because you're
[00:27:28] a hundred percent if you're going to relive your trauma you're going to be re traumatized right
[00:27:31] your your body is is going to let you know what's safe to release and so that the healing process
[00:27:36] and this you know the identity shifts that we're talking about it comes in stages because
[00:27:41] it's only going to happen as much as it feels safe to your body to happen right it's going
[00:27:47] to come in stage so there's layers and so I have clients sometimes who you know we've done work
[00:27:51] together and they'll come to me like a year later and it's like oh this something came back and this
[00:27:55] one came back but this one didn't and so there for them it's frustration like I thought I did this I
[00:27:59] thought I healed it well doesn't mean you didn't heal it it didn't mean that what you did didn't
[00:28:03] work it means that there's another layer that's ready to be healed there's another layer
[00:28:08] that's ready to be released and so I feel like this is a perspective that all of us I mean
[00:28:13] included like we have to really keep front of mind because I feel like that too sometimes
[00:28:17] something comes up and I'm like oh my god I've done so much work on this how much more can I
[00:28:21] you know but it's it there's it's layered and and this is I mean this is the human journey
[00:28:26] right it's this constant journey of evolution and I I believe that's what our souls are here to
[00:28:31] do is to get in to continuously consistently evolve and so with the healing and the identity
[00:28:36] shifts but this and the same thing with with burnout like it's not to say you're never
[00:28:41] going to experience burnout again or it maybe it looks different maybe it shows up different
[00:28:45] and it's probably going to be at a you know maybe to a lesser extent but again it's just
[00:28:50] it's not like what you did before it didn't work it's just there's a new layer that's
[00:28:54] ready to be healed and ready to be released yes thank you for saying that I love when this
[00:28:59] happens I actually just answered a comment today on Instagram from someone asking this like
[00:29:04] you know my friend Callie did a post about her client did somatic therapy for like a year
[00:29:08] and a half and thought that her supplements she was taking during that time was helping her bladder
[00:29:11] symptoms but realized it was the somatic healing she was doing but now I don't know year later she
[00:29:17] came back and symptoms came up again and this person commented like why isn't the year and a
[00:29:21] half enough like when do we just get to like be done with it and yeah it's not that something's
[00:29:26] wrong necessarily or or it's maybe back at square one you're not at the back at the
[00:29:30] beginning but your body sending you a message right the I think that perspective shift
[00:29:35] that you mentioned is about getting out of like something's wrong we have to get rid of every
[00:29:39] symptom or what's wrong in our body to wait actually what's what's the story yeah exactly yeah
[00:29:44] it's the curiosity piece and and this is something I always have to hone it with my clients and
[00:29:49] it's funny because I had a similar conversation with my clients a week before last we're in
[00:29:53] boxer and she's freaking out because this symptom came back and then this thing you know
[00:29:57] and it's and look can we meet that with curiosity rather than judgment right and I
[00:30:01] that's hard to hard thing to do because because you have done the work but
[00:30:05] like what I told her you you will never go back to square one like you're not the same person now
[00:30:10] that you were six months ago we started so it's impossible to go back to square one like you'll
[00:30:14] never go back to square one so like your body might feel like it it's not because now you're
[00:30:18] a totally different version of you that's dealing with this symptom and you you have tools
[00:30:22] and you have resources now that it's going to make it a totally different experience
[00:30:27] yes yes I think I say that message so many times because I mean forget of course I have to
[00:30:32] mind myself yeah um all the time of like oh wait I'm not you know this is this is coming up again
[00:30:37] it doesn't mean that I don't know I've lost all like learning or you know healing yeah it's
[00:30:44] a process for sure yeah okay I love this um you mentioned a little bit about the
[00:30:50] working in the quantum field and how that how we can access that for our healing can you
[00:30:55] tell us more about what you mean yeah so for me addressing the body from a quantum perspective
[00:31:01] is is kind of what we've been talking about this looking at this whole body perspective
[00:31:06] and looking at the mind the body the soul all of it and when we're looking at you know the
[00:31:13] condition or the conditioning and the patterns that exist that are causing these physical
[00:31:19] things to happen on the body this is multi layered so there's there's conditioning from
[00:31:25] your human experience your own human experience right so this is you know what's happened in
[00:31:29] childhood you know growing up it's our human experience and that affects us at you know a
[00:31:37] mental emotional level there's also societal conditioning that we've talked about right
[00:31:42] that affects us at a certain level and then that's also generational and we carry generational
[00:31:46] things with this and you know whether you believe that or not science is showing us that
[00:31:51] your cells carry science is saying seven I really believe that it's more than that but it's saying
[00:31:56] up to seven generations of trauma in our cells so we are literally born as infants with trauma
[00:32:03] already in ourselves like that's just the fact of it like it's just the fact of matter
[00:32:07] and so for me when we're looking at quantum healing it's it's addressing all of that
[00:32:10] and it's looking at things from this entire energetic perspective of my own stuff that I have
[00:32:18] in my cells in my DNA what I've carried from generations past and it's being able to heal
[00:32:22] all of that and I think that again I I really believe that our souls here are here to evolve
[00:32:29] and I think that's part of our souls evolution and that's one reason why our souls decided
[00:32:35] to incarnate and right here and now is for that healing is to help with our own healing
[00:32:39] but also generations past and I had this ancestral healer on my podcast so back the episode hasn't
[00:32:44] come out yet but I did a session with her she offered me a session after she came on my podcast and
[00:32:49] it's so fascinating she ties a lot of science into it too which is really cool but it's so
[00:32:54] fascinating how much the trauma from our ancestors really does impact us now like in it I know
[00:33:05] it sounds just like getting off on a whole tangent here but it it sounds it's it can
[00:33:08] sound who it can sound crazy we're really there there's there's for me it's there's too much science
[00:33:13] to back up this part of it right of what we carry in our cells and and you know generational trauma
[00:33:19] in our cells to not be able to tie this into this ancestral generational piece into our our
[00:33:25] healing now and so anyway going back to your to your question about the quantum it's just
[00:33:29] looking at things from this full energetic spectrum and connecting that energetic emotional piece
[00:33:35] to the physical piece and then just looking at things from that that whole comprehensive view
[00:33:41] what would you say to someone who's learning about all of this and there's so many different
[00:33:46] aspects right there's like ancestral trauma affecting me my own personal life trauma the
[00:33:52] emotions my belief system my chakra my imbalances like when someone's starting to be like oh my
[00:33:57] gosh that's overwhelming there's so much like what what do you say to them what do you
[00:34:01] start it's a lot it is a lot and i i don't say all that to make it sound like it's overwhelming
[00:34:06] and it's impossible because it's not but it's really just taking it one piece at a time
[00:34:10] and taking it just a little one little small bite at a time so for me we've talked about this
[00:34:15] it's starting with the human design piece to understand let me just understand me first
[00:34:20] i don't have to worry about my ancestors trauma and all that right now i can just
[00:34:25] understand me so if i understand how my body works how my energy works how my hormones work
[00:34:30] like my physical body my energetic body just learning that piece and then you can start to
[00:34:35] peel back layers and and i think the other thing too is keeping that perspective that we just
[00:34:39] talked about knowing that this isn't like a one and done thing this isn't like a quick thing like
[00:34:43] oh i'm going to do this and then in six months i'm going to be fine it's a constant journey
[00:34:47] and knowing that we don't have to eat the whole thing now like it's not about doing the whole
[00:34:51] thing right now and taking that it's too much your body would not be able to handle it
[00:34:55] but knowing that i am going on this journey inward and it's going to be a lifelong journey
[00:35:03] and that's the other thing it's going to be a lifelong journey and keeping that perspective and
[00:35:07] keeping that curiosity and compassion front of mind versus like judgment and frustration and
[00:35:14] just wanting it to be over because the for me like the part of the healing yes the physical
[00:35:20] healing we want to get rid of the physical symptoms of course but it's also like the
[00:35:24] journey is part of it and the the wisdom you get along the way is part of it and so keeping that
[00:35:29] in mind too that it's not just about only just get to the end and fix my symptoms we want to get the
[00:35:34] learnings and the wisdom along the way because that's that's all part of it too yeah and then
[00:35:39] it happens in phases it like i mean to your point like it can't happen all of once we
[00:35:43] aren't ready for it like i think you're saying earlier right our subconscious will only
[00:35:46] let go of things when it's ready for it and so yeah it can only happen in phases i've
[00:35:52] definitely seen that in my own journey um actually even just a couple weeks ago i'm
[00:35:56] completely redoing updating my my program and i think that my subconscious my body was kind of
[00:36:01] like we're gonna throw these old symptoms at you to like make sure you know what you're doing
[00:36:06] i mean i had to laugh at it was like every day something new that used to be a thing
[00:36:10] popped up and i was like what is happening all right all right i just did a lot of meditation
[00:36:15] a lot of like working you know talking and working with myself because yeah there's just
[00:36:20] it was messages and then like when i went through it and i'm here and it's gone and you
[00:36:25] yeah now you're at the next level yeah i have that all the time yes things pop up and you're
[00:36:29] like whoa what is this and you just have to yeah it's just another layer to work through
[00:36:34] i think it's the response we have towards it the changes that helps it right that's kind of
[00:36:38] what i'm hearing from you yes 100 yeah this mentor mine explained it like a spiral staircase
[00:36:44] and if you're walking up like a glass spiral staircase and you're constantly ascending
[00:36:49] up the spiral staircase then you can look down to see you know what's happening
[00:36:53] and you get to a new level and you can still look down and have the same view but it's from a different
[00:36:58] vantage point and so you can see the thing down there like i've experienced this thing
[00:37:02] i've been there before but once you're going up the spiral staircase you're going to have
[00:37:06] a different vantage point looking down at the thing and so it it is you have a different
[00:37:10] perspective like i said for you you when you experience things multiple times you have
[00:37:14] tools and resources to bring with you when if it comes back again so it's not going to be
[00:37:20] the same experience it's not from the same vantage point oh i love that visual that's really helpful
[00:37:25] thank you for that yeah cool okay okay i want to keep this going for a long time so like
[00:37:33] there's so many ways we can go but um is there anything just from based on what we've talked
[00:37:38] about that you feel like you haven't said that's important for our listeners to know
[00:37:42] i think we covered a lot i think i think the thing i want to maybe leave people with is
[00:37:49] let's see how do i want to see it to really listen in honor what your body's telling you
[00:37:55] i think we have been you know per everything we've been talking about conditioning society whatever
[00:38:00] we have it's really easy for us to ignore what our body's saying or to question what
[00:38:06] our body is saying especially women and i think for me my like big piece i want my women that i
[00:38:15] work with to leave with is that is is listening and honor what your body's saying and trusting
[00:38:21] what your body is telling you if you feel like something is off then it's off if you feel
[00:38:25] like something is not correct for you then it's not correct for you but it's really just listening
[00:38:30] and and actually honoring and trusting what your body and your intuition is telling you
[00:38:37] thank you yeah and that's a process to learn how to listen definitely i think the lifelong process
[00:38:43] but you definitely get better at it yeah yep yeah for sure cool okay hope where can people find you
[00:38:49] what are you what are you doing these days yeah so you can find me my website is hopeful
