[00:00:40] Hey y'all. Okay. Welcome back to Heal with Grace podcast. I just got back from traveling
[00:00:47] and I want to tell you about something that happened because it's the kind of thing
[00:00:51] I know so many of you worry about. I was on a three week trip. If you hadn't
[00:00:55] followed along on my Instagram, I went to New Zealand, which was at the top of my bucket
[00:00:59] list. It was this trip that I was really excited about, but there was a lot of meaning behind
[00:01:04] it. And I could feel myself getting a little bit nervous and afraid and putting a lot
[00:01:09] of pressure around needing to be needing it to be this amazing perfect trip without
[00:01:13] any kind of symptoms or any issues with my health, which by the way, I mean I
[00:01:19] have come very far and I can travel, live my life, do what I want to do. But because
[00:01:26] of so much pressure and meaning around this trip, I was afraid that what if I have some
[00:01:31] symptoms? What if I feel bad and it takes me out of the trip and I ruin the trip and
[00:01:36] blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And guess what? I did have a flare. I had a flare
[00:01:39] for a couple of days, which is what I want to talk to you about and help you
[00:01:42] understand a few different things. One, that it was so minor and minimal, comparative
[00:01:49] to anything I've dealt with in the past. And I want to tell you why and then give
[00:01:54] you tips and tools of how I moved through it so that I can help you learn
[00:01:59] from my situation. It wasn't just any kind of flare. It was really built out
[00:02:04] of fear and a lot of anxiety around it. So today, that's what I'm going to
[00:02:11] talk to you about. I'm going to walk you through that flare while traveling and the
[00:02:14] mindset shift and nervous system tools that changed everything for me. So let's
[00:02:18] go ahead and jump in. First and foremost, I went to New Zealand. If you haven't
[00:02:23] followed along with me on Instagram, I shared a lot there. I was really
[00:02:27] excited about this. It's been one, I mean, New Zealand's been at the top of
[00:02:31] my list for a while. If you know anything about me, you know that I
[00:02:35] one love to travel. I've traveled a lot in my life. It's always meant so
[00:02:38] much to me just to experience other cultures get out of my comfort zone and
[00:02:42] really just see more of the world and people and connect. And also I love
[00:02:48] nature. I mean, this is just like a nature lovers playground. So it was
[00:02:52] really exciting. The thing is that in the past couple of years, I actually
[00:02:58] haven't traveled much other than like a couple of weekends to go back home
[00:03:02] where I'm from in Texas just for different events and things. And that's
[00:03:07] a big deal for me. In the past, I would travel a lot. I mean, I had my digital
[00:03:10] nomad days of literally not having a home and traveling around in 2023. And
[00:03:16] then I realized, wait, that's too much too much discomfort for my nervous
[00:03:21] system. So I decided to settle down and find a place. And actually I
[00:03:25] realized I didn't want to go anywhere for some time. And that was
[00:03:30] really needed for the past couple of years. I haven't really gone much
[00:03:34] of anywhere. But now I have met someone and I'm dating and he is
[00:03:41] traveling a lot. He does so for work for passion for for his hobbies
[00:03:45] and he's a photographer. So he spends a lot of time in really
[00:03:49] beautiful places. So I decided to join him on a trip to New Zealand. So
[00:03:54] if you can imagine all of this build up to I haven't traveled in a
[00:03:58] while. I love traveling. I want it to go really well. I had this
[00:04:02] like kind of perfectionism stance coming into it of okay, this has
[00:04:06] to go really well. This is our first time traveling long term
[00:04:09] together. And so I was afraid like what if my symptoms flare and
[00:04:12] ruin everything? I've built so much stability in myself. And
[00:04:15] what if I get sick? Because I have had that response before
[00:04:20] where I would travel and I would have a crash. So even me
[00:04:24] saying this right now, I can feel my nervous system get a
[00:04:30] little like, ooh, like overwhelmed and heated just
[00:04:33] because there was a lot of fear around it. And what I learned is
[00:04:37] that fear really feeds our pain and our symptoms, which I know
[00:04:42] that I teach it, right? I tell you guys that all the time. But
[00:04:46] sometimes we can't just control everything. And I also want to
[00:04:50] be real that although there are, I mean, very, very
[00:04:54] honest, there are so many symptoms I never experienced
[00:04:58] anymore, ever, that I dealt with really, really bad for a while.
[00:05:02] And so I've come very far. But there's a couple of different
[00:05:05] things that I'm moving through right now as I'm moving
[00:05:07] through some big shifts emotionally, mentally,
[00:05:09] spiritually in my life. And so, you know, my body is going to
[00:05:12] talk to me in physical ways, I have a sensitive nervous
[00:05:14] system, it's going to let me know when things are
[00:05:16] overwhelming. So I was feeling a lot of fear and
[00:05:19] anticipation around this trip, which creates high alert in
[00:05:24] my nervous system. Now I did all the things I know to do. I
[00:05:28] took all my support systems. I tried to take it slow, which
[00:05:32] that was one thing we didn't really do in the beginning. We
[00:05:35] kind of mismatched on our expectations of how to pace
[00:05:39] the trip. But then we figured it out and slowed down. My
[00:05:42] point being is that I was able to help myself support
[00:05:48] myself know what to do going into it, take my my
[00:05:51] supplements, meditate, reduce anxiety as much as I
[00:05:55] could. And at the end of the day, this was just a
[00:05:58] combination of multiple different stressors that ended
[00:06:02] up with me flaring a couple days around like a third of
[00:06:05] the way or maybe like a week into our trip or something
[00:06:08] like that. And what happened was that I had a crash for
[00:06:13] a couple days. So a lot of my pain and histamine
[00:06:17] reactions, gut issues, mold toxicity, all of that stuff. I
[00:06:22] don't really experience much anymore. What I deal with
[00:06:25] sometimes now are fatigue crashes for a couple days. And
[00:06:30] usually that's because that's just a symptom that I that I'm
[00:06:33] working through right now and that's something that happens
[00:06:36] when I get overwhelmed or or I'm unconsciously really
[00:06:39] fearful of something happening. And so I was afraid
[00:06:44] that it was going to happen. I was afraid I was going
[00:06:47] to get sick. I've gotten sick, like with a flu or virus
[00:06:50] or something while traveling in the past. And so I was
[00:06:54] afraid that I was going to get sick. I'm going to ruin
[00:06:57] the trip. We're not going to have a good enough time.
[00:06:59] I'm going to ruin it for him. And you know, it's going
[00:07:02] to be on my fault because I couldn't help myself
[00:07:05] control my symptoms. I realize now how much that
[00:07:09] was impacting me. I was expecting myself to have
[00:07:14] a perfect time for my body to not have any kind of
[00:07:18] flair. And so when I was trying when I was spiraling
[00:07:22] into this fear, it continued to bring my nervous system
[00:07:26] into a state of stress. So when your nervous system
[00:07:31] goes into the state of stress, sometimes it's
[00:07:33] kind of like that self fulfilling prophecy. You're
[00:07:36] so afraid something's going to happen that actually
[00:07:39] it creates that problem within you. And what I
[00:07:42] really want to hone in on and like drive home is
[00:07:45] that this is not to say you can control every little
[00:07:48] thing. And if you can't reduce your anxiety or
[00:07:51] fear, then you're just messing everything up and
[00:07:53] causing you illness or symptoms, right? I'm not
[00:07:56] saying that at all. That is not how I perceive
[00:08:01] this whole situation. I'm not like, Oh, you know,
[00:08:04] I'm not good enough. I am a fraud for speaking
[00:08:07] on this topic. And I can't even do it. Believe
[00:08:09] me, I have felt that in the past. You can even
[00:08:11] go back into other episodes and listen to it. But
[00:08:13] for now, what I have realized is I am human. Like
[00:08:19] I'm not going to be perfect at this all the time.
[00:08:21] And my unconscious fear is sometimes going to take
[00:08:23] over. And that's what it did. I woke up one morning
[00:08:26] usually for me, and I'm not going to go into a
[00:08:28] whole lot of details, because you don't need to
[00:08:30] take, you don't need to know all the details.
[00:08:33] And I don't just mean that coming from a place
[00:08:34] of me being private, which I mean, some of it
[00:08:37] is private, but also sometimes we can listen
[00:08:40] to other people's symptoms and we can take them
[00:08:42] on for ourselves. I've actually experienced that
[00:08:44] a lot in my career in the specialty when I work
[00:08:46] with clients that have certain symptoms that I
[00:08:49] haven't had before, my brain will take those on.
[00:08:52] So that's one of the reasons I'm not describing
[00:08:55] to you all of the details of my crash. But
[00:08:58] essentially I wake up, I start to feel bad. I
[00:09:01] have headache. I'm like deeply, deeply
[00:09:04] fatigued, like it's really difficult to
[00:09:06] just like get out of bed and do the normal
[00:09:08] things. And I feel like I'm getting a cold.
[00:09:11] I kind of feel like I'm getting some kind of
[00:09:12] virus, you know, I'm like achy in my body kind of
[00:09:14] virus thing. And that is not, hasn't always
[00:09:17] been my experience, but that is something
[00:09:19] that has come up for me in the, in recent
[00:09:21] times. So it's hard to, to figure out, am
[00:09:26] I actually getting a virus or is this my
[00:09:28] body? And actually sometimes when I have
[00:09:31] gotten full on virus, I actually do think
[00:09:33] it is my body. I think that, like, you
[00:09:35] know, when we're stressed, our immune
[00:09:37] system decreases. And so we're more
[00:09:38] susceptible to viruses. So I was really
[00:09:41] afraid that that was going to happen. And
[00:09:42] I mean, it's also common to catch
[00:09:45] something when traveling, right? Like
[00:09:47] that's, that's not abnormal. My point
[00:09:49] being is that I woke up, didn't feel
[00:09:52] great. I will admit, I went into
[00:09:55] spiral mode for a minute, well, longer
[00:09:58] than a minute. I went into, oh my gosh,
[00:10:02] it's happening. It's freaking happening.
[00:10:06] And also we were leaving one area that
[00:10:08] day and having to move to another. So
[00:10:10] we were staying in one place each night
[00:10:11] for a few nights. And I was like, I
[00:10:14] can't do this and move around so much
[00:10:17] like how I'm going to make this happen. I
[00:10:20] can't go on this hike. We were planning
[00:10:21] to go on. I'm going to ruin it. We're
[00:10:23] not going to see this area. We're only
[00:10:25] here once. You know, all the things
[00:10:27] I was just like, also just
[00:10:29] frustrated. I was like, why do I keep
[00:10:32] having this response? I teach people
[00:10:34] this. How the hell can I not control
[00:10:37] it? I mean, yeah, all the spirals were
[00:10:40] happening. I was shaming myself. I was
[00:10:42] guilty myself. I was frustrated and I
[00:10:43] was hopeless. And to be honest, most of
[00:10:46] it was just like, I'm tired of it. I'm
[00:10:48] just tired of this response. Even
[00:10:51] saying all that is like, it's
[00:10:53] exhausting, right? If you're just
[00:10:54] caught in this loop of like hopelessness,
[00:10:57] it's really difficult to be in. So I
[00:11:01] shared this with my partner and I was
[00:11:04] like, this is happening, by the way,
[00:11:05] he he understands neuroplastic and TMS
[00:11:09] symptoms. So I was like, I don't know
[00:11:11] what this is. I'm afraid I'm getting
[00:11:13] sick. I'm so sorry, blah, blah, blah. And
[00:11:18] he repeated back to me a lot of my own
[00:11:21] words, a lot of my own teachings from
[00:11:26] this podcast from my body healing
[00:11:29] method for my program and was like,
[00:11:32] hey, if it's happening, it's
[00:11:34] happening. Let's ride the wave. Let's
[00:11:37] just be in it. And if we need to go
[00:11:39] chill for a few days on the beach, let's
[00:11:41] go do that. And I was like, yeah, I get
[00:11:44] it. Thank you. Okay. But also I was
[00:11:48] fighting it a little bit. I was like,
[00:11:49] I don't want this to happen. And
[00:11:52] also I still was getting up and doing
[00:11:54] the things I knew to do. I tried to
[00:11:56] reduce fear in my brain, reestablish
[00:11:58] safety, tell my body it's okay. I
[00:12:01] meditated, I journaled. And what I
[00:12:04] have learned, what I want to help you
[00:12:06] understand, and at least for me in my
[00:12:08] process, is that what I've learned that
[00:12:11] when I feel this stuck, when I feel
[00:12:14] this hopelessness, when I feel this
[00:12:16] like, kind of an intensity in my body
[00:12:19] and this crash symptom, for me
[00:12:20] personally, I'm not saying this is for
[00:12:22] you, for everyone. But I have found
[00:12:25] this to be for some people, for a
[00:12:27] lot of people that when I can bring
[00:12:30] out some emotion, it actually really
[00:12:33] helps filter this through. So what I've
[00:12:36] learned is when my body's in that
[00:12:37] shutdown response, it needs some energy,
[00:12:40] it needs some fire to be met. Right. So
[00:12:43] what I mean by that is like, there's
[00:12:45] a lot of pent up emotional energy or
[00:12:47] anger, frustration, disappointment,
[00:12:49] hopelessness, that's just sitting
[00:12:51] there underneath the surface and
[00:12:52] actually needs to be met by more of
[00:12:55] that, by fire, by screaming, by
[00:12:58] crying, by emotion. And so what I
[00:13:02] experienced, what I did, we were in the
[00:13:04] car and I was just like crying and
[00:13:06] I'm like, I'm over this, I'm blah, blah,
[00:13:08] and I really just wanted to go to
[00:13:10] sleep. I wanted to shut everything
[00:13:12] out because that's the ultimate like
[00:13:13] shutdown response, right? Like going
[00:13:15] to sleep, shutting out, avoiding, some
[00:13:18] people end up passing out, like,
[00:13:20] your body will shut you down. But I
[00:13:22] knew I needed something to move
[00:13:25] through me. I knew I needed some
[00:13:26] emotion. And I've done this before at
[00:13:30] home, like you don't need some crazy
[00:13:31] amazing place to do this. I've done this
[00:13:33] before at home where I'll get a pill
[00:13:34] and I'll just start screaming into it
[00:13:36] and punching it even though it takes
[00:13:37] so much energy out of me. And what I
[00:13:40] did was started like gripping my
[00:13:45] fists and like growling and like
[00:13:47] moving some anger and emotion. I
[00:13:50] squeezed my partner really, really
[00:13:52] tight. And he was like, yeah, let it
[00:13:54] out. Like just let it out. And then I
[00:13:57] we were on the side of the road
[00:13:58] literally and there's no one there. I
[00:14:00] mean, it was it was all safe is what
[00:14:02] I'm saying. There was no one coming
[00:14:04] by it was safe. And I walked up to
[00:14:07] the side of the beach. And I just
[00:14:11] literally screamed at the top of my
[00:14:12] lungs. And I like yelled and said
[00:14:17] f you and fuck off. And I'm so
[00:14:20] over this. And I just primarily
[00:14:23] scream from my core from like the
[00:14:25] depths of my body. And that was the
[00:14:30] emotional release that I needed. I
[00:14:33] cried. I felt sad. I felt angry. And a
[00:14:38] lot of times we talk about
[00:14:40] symptoms coming from a deeper
[00:14:41] trauma place from the past. I
[00:14:43] didn't have that come up. I wasn't
[00:14:45] like, Oh, this is because one time
[00:14:47] in my when I was five X, Y and Z
[00:14:49] happened, or this isn't because of
[00:14:51] something specific that happened
[00:14:53] even on this trip, I can't, you
[00:14:54] know, I can't even say like, Oh, it
[00:14:56] happened because we did this or he
[00:14:58] did that. It wasn't about that. It's
[00:15:00] just this pent up emotion that's
[00:15:02] been there that needed to be
[00:15:03] integrated and filtered through. And
[00:15:07] part of that was my frustration
[00:15:10] about the fact that it was
[00:15:11] happening was my activator for
[00:15:12] letting it out. Once I did that,
[00:15:14] it wasn't like some immediate
[00:15:15] release. But I was like, Okay, I
[00:15:17] kept going, I kept crying and
[00:15:19] screaming. And then I just started
[00:15:22] breathing. I was like, Okay, all
[00:15:25] right, let's move on. And if I need
[00:15:26] to sleep and I'm tired, and I feel
[00:15:28] bad, that's just is what it is. So
[00:15:30] got back in the car kept driving.
[00:15:32] And what I realized over the
[00:15:34] next few hours was, Oh, huh, I
[00:15:37] don't feel, I don't feel that
[00:15:39] intensity in my body anymore. Oh,
[00:15:41] my my headache is kind of lifting
[00:15:43] like, Oh, that stuckness in my
[00:15:45] body or that that achiness isn't
[00:15:47] really there anymore. Oh, I, I
[00:15:48] feel a little bit lighter. And it
[00:15:52] truly was a really powerful shift
[00:15:55] that I was able to do through
[00:15:58] letting out emotion. And it's not
[00:16:01] just about the emotion. It's also
[00:16:03] the fact that I allowed it to be
[00:16:05] there. Before this emotion, I
[00:16:07] actually didn't even mention
[00:16:08] this, I'm going to back up a
[00:16:09] second. Before I did this
[00:16:11] expression, the somatic
[00:16:12] expression, I also really helped
[00:16:16] myself lean into okay, yeah, if
[00:16:19] this is what it's going to be, this
[00:16:21] is what it's going to be. I fought
[00:16:22] it for a minute and then I leaned
[00:16:23] into it and was like, All right,
[00:16:24] yep, I know that fear keeps
[00:16:26] driving the symptoms. There's
[00:16:27] no reason to keep fighting it now
[00:16:28] because I'm in it. So I'm going
[00:16:30] to allow it to be here. I'm just
[00:16:31] going to let myself be tired. I'm
[00:16:34] going to let myself not be okay,
[00:16:37] because it's okay to not be
[00:16:38] okay sometimes. And I'm just
[00:16:40] going to keep showing up in the
[00:16:41] best way I can. Maybe instead of
[00:16:44] going for a hike, we just go to
[00:16:45] a pretty place. And I sit there
[00:16:48] and look out. And instead of
[00:16:50] just hunkering down and
[00:16:52] shutting out and binging TV the
[00:16:54] rest of the afternoon, I go sit
[00:16:56] outside and just enjoy the
[00:16:57] nature. And so I just allowed
[00:16:59] myself to be exactly where I am.
[00:17:02] I felt the feelings, the
[00:17:04] sensations in my body, allowed
[00:17:07] the sensations to be just as
[00:17:08] they are instead of fighting
[00:17:10] them. And then I got to this
[00:17:12] emotional place. So what I
[00:17:14] really want to help you
[00:17:16] understand and myself included
[00:17:19] was the mindset shifts that
[00:17:21] helped me move through this in a
[00:17:23] day and a half. Truly this was
[00:17:24] like a day and a half of
[00:17:25] feeling this way was that I
[00:17:28] allowed myself to think, you
[00:17:29] know what, this is happening.
[00:17:31] And if it happens again, I'll
[00:17:32] be okay too. Because one of the
[00:17:34] fears was, Oh my gosh, what if
[00:17:36] this happens the rest of the
[00:17:37] trip, right? So I had to lean
[00:17:39] in and allow and accept that
[00:17:41] alright, if this is how it's
[00:17:42] going to be, this is how it's
[00:17:43] going to be. And I'm going to
[00:17:45] be with it and keep moving
[00:17:47] through it. And maybe we'll have
[00:17:48] to change plans, maybe we
[00:17:50] won't. I also allowed myself to
[00:17:53] move through the fear that
[00:17:57] it's ruining everything, and
[00:17:59] that I'm going to be rejected
[00:18:00] because of it. A big part of my
[00:18:02] fear is that people don't
[00:18:03] understand me and that I will
[00:18:07] burden them. And I had to
[00:18:09] release that because it's not
[00:18:10] going to help me or them. I
[00:18:12] learned that I can handle
[00:18:14] this. Symptoms pass more
[00:18:16] quickly when you feel and you
[00:18:18] really know that you can
[00:18:19] handle and move through this.
[00:18:21] It doesn't mean it's okay, or
[00:18:22] it's going to be easy. It
[00:18:23] doesn't mean it's going to be
[00:18:24] easy, but that you can do it.
[00:18:26] Also, I truly released the
[00:18:30] fear around it continuing.
[00:18:33] Once I had my, you know,
[00:18:34] couple hours of fighting it
[00:18:36] and not liking it and
[00:18:37] wanting it to be over. I
[00:18:39] surrendered. I accepted where
[00:18:40] I was. I leaned into the
[00:18:42] symptoms and knew that a
[00:18:44] shift would happen eventually
[00:18:45] because this is what it does.
[00:18:46] It's not going to last the
[00:18:47] rest of the trip or it's not
[00:18:48] going to last the rest of my
[00:18:49] life. It is temporary and it
[00:18:51] will change and I will get
[00:18:52] over it. So the best thing I
[00:18:54] could do is lean into it.
[00:18:56] And then the emotions came
[00:18:58] and I was allowed, I
[00:19:00] allowed myself to release and
[00:19:02] be with those emotions. So
[00:19:05] a few takeaways that I
[00:19:08] want to share with you that
[00:19:10] I want, I kind of want to
[00:19:11] summarize and bring up here
[00:19:12] is that one, we don't want to
[00:19:15] keep feeding the pain with
[00:19:16] fear. Fear keeps it alive.
[00:19:19] And I am case in point. I was
[00:19:21] really fearful before and
[00:19:22] during this whole time. I was
[00:19:25] so afraid that it was going to
[00:19:27] happen. And I was trying to
[00:19:28] do all the things I knew to
[00:19:29] do to keep it away. That
[00:19:32] really, I just kind of made
[00:19:34] it happen in a way. I don't
[00:19:36] even want to actually say
[00:19:37] that I didn't make anything
[00:19:38] happen. It's just that fear
[00:19:40] does perpetuate pain. And I
[00:19:41] had a lot of fear. So what
[00:19:45] I know is that this
[00:19:46] experience helped me realize
[00:19:49] I can move through it in a
[00:19:50] day and a half. And the
[00:19:53] symptoms were less intense
[00:19:54] than they have in the past. I
[00:19:55] was able to actually move
[00:19:57] through life, go out to
[00:19:59] eat, you know, gently move
[00:20:02] through the day, even though
[00:20:03] it was really hard, it took
[00:20:04] a lot of energy for me to
[00:20:05] do it. I was able to do
[00:20:07] it. And it wasn't from a
[00:20:08] place of I'm going to push
[00:20:10] myself through it. I have to
[00:20:11] force myself to get up and do
[00:20:12] all these things. It was from a
[00:20:14] place of I'm just going to be
[00:20:15] with that sensation as I'm
[00:20:17] also living my life. Tip
[00:20:20] number two is using emotional
[00:20:22] release to move your body out
[00:20:23] of protective mode. I get that
[00:20:25] like not everyone may want to
[00:20:27] somatically release emotion
[00:20:28] and not everyone needs to.
[00:20:30] This may not be you, but
[00:20:31] it's less about the way that
[00:20:33] you do it. And it's more
[00:20:34] about understanding that there
[00:20:36] are emotions underneath the
[00:20:37] surface that probably want to
[00:20:38] get out. And you don't
[00:20:39] have to know exactly why
[00:20:41] they're there or exactly what
[00:20:42] the emotion is. Allow yourself
[00:20:45] to feel maybe even like get
[00:20:47] yourself into that place,
[00:20:48] watch a sad movie, watch
[00:20:50] something that makes you angry.
[00:20:52] If I didn't have the
[00:20:53] awareness and the education I
[00:20:55] had around this, I wouldn't
[00:20:56] have done that emotional
[00:20:58] release. But I knew that
[00:21:01] something was there. I knew
[00:21:02] my body needed to feel
[00:21:04] something. So I kind of got
[00:21:07] myself into that place of
[00:21:10] like anger or sadness or
[00:21:13] like crying. I kind of got
[00:21:15] myself there and then it
[00:21:16] flowed and then it came.
[00:21:18] So maybe that's journaling for
[00:21:20] you. Maybe that's listening to
[00:21:21] music for 10 minutes where you
[00:21:23] feel sad or angry because the
[00:21:25] music makes you think of
[00:21:26] something or just, you know,
[00:21:27] it's a sad song that helps
[00:21:28] you feel whatever it is.
[00:21:31] Allow yourself to experiment
[00:21:33] with emotional expression and
[00:21:35] know that no matter what
[00:21:37] it is you feel it's OK to
[00:21:38] feel. And then especially for
[00:21:41] my people that have a similar
[00:21:42] fatigue response, like shut
[00:21:43] down response, we often need
[00:21:47] energetic movement, emotional
[00:21:49] movement like anger or deep
[00:21:52] sadness to move us through.
[00:21:54] So think about it.
[00:21:56] I mean, the antidote to
[00:21:58] shut down is movement, right?
[00:21:59] So we need that that emotional
[00:22:02] fire, that movement, that
[00:22:04] anger. I realized I just said
[00:22:06] movement and anger and
[00:22:07] emotion a lot in a few sentences.
[00:22:10] Yeah. And then last but not
[00:22:13] least, celebrate your progress.
[00:22:16] Shorter, less intense flares
[00:22:18] are a sign of nervous system
[00:22:20] change. I mean, truly, this
[00:22:23] really taught me like, wow, I
[00:22:25] can do this. I can move through
[00:22:26] it. Yeah, it might suck for a
[00:22:28] day or not be ideal, but I'll
[00:22:30] move through it and be fine.
[00:22:32] And then also replace the
[00:22:35] what if this ruins
[00:22:36] everything? What if I can't do
[00:22:37] x, y and z? What if I can't,
[00:22:40] you know, whatever, what if I
[00:22:43] what if what if what if replace
[00:22:46] it with if it happens, I'll be
[00:22:48] okay. If it happens, I'll be
[00:22:51] okay. That needs to be your
[00:22:52] mantra is being my mantra.
[00:22:54] And reminder that progress
[00:22:57] is not about never having
[00:22:59] symptoms. It's about moving
[00:23:00] through them with less fear.
[00:23:02] And then over time, you will
[00:23:04] have less. I truly 100% I have
[00:23:07] had less and less symptoms
[00:23:09] over time. And again, there are
[00:23:11] some that I truly never
[00:23:12] experience anymore. And just
[00:23:14] because of where I'm at my life
[00:23:16] and what I'm moving through on a
[00:23:17] deeper spiritual level, it makes
[00:23:19] sense that I'm going to have
[00:23:20] some symptoms. So it's not
[00:23:23] going to take me out of my
[00:23:24] life. I'm not like canceling
[00:23:26] work or anything like that.
[00:23:27] It's just that there are things
[00:23:29] that are coming up that my
[00:23:29] body's moving through. So again,
[00:23:33] it's not about being perfect or
[00:23:34] never in the rest of your life
[00:23:36] having symptoms again, it's just
[00:23:38] how do you move through them
[00:23:39] with less fear and more
[00:23:40] understanding and compassion for
[00:23:42] yourself. So I really want to
[00:23:44] invite you to try and notice
[00:23:46] your fear response next time
[00:23:48] and the flair next time you
[00:23:50] have a flair notice your fear
[00:23:52] response and really start to
[00:23:54] practice safety signals through
[00:23:56] ways of phrases like it's
[00:23:58] okay to not be okay. Even if
[00:24:00] I'm not feeling okay, I will
[00:24:03] be okay. And this isn't going to
[00:24:05] last forever. It's temporary
[00:24:07] really leaning in to where you
[00:24:10] are instead of fighting it,
[00:24:11] fighting it, fighting yourself,
[00:24:13] finding your internal state,
[00:24:15] shaming yourself for not being
[00:24:16] farther along than you are is
[00:24:17] never going to help you. It's
[00:24:19] only going to hurt you. Learn
[00:24:21] from me. I've done it plenty
[00:24:23] of times. It never gets to a
[00:24:25] better result. And then also
[00:24:28] see if you can work with some
[00:24:29] emotion here. It might feel
[00:24:32] foreign, it might feel weird,
[00:24:33] might feel scary. It's taken me
[00:24:34] a while to get to this point
[00:24:36] where I recognize how to
[00:24:37] express it. It has, but it's
[00:24:39] been incredibly
[00:24:40] transformational in my journey.
[00:24:42] And there's no way I couldn't
[00:24:43] do it now. I have to do it.
[00:24:45] It's very, very helpful. And
[00:24:47] this is so much of what we
[00:24:49] talk about here or what so
[00:24:51] much of what I'm talking
[00:24:53] about today is all of what
[00:24:55] I share and teach in the mind
[00:24:56] body healing method. And it's
[00:24:59] why I show up every single
[00:25:01] day to help support you, to
[00:25:03] help support myself, to remind
[00:25:05] myself of all the teaching
[00:25:07] tools. And the mind body
[00:25:09] healing method, it's a group
[00:25:10] program, if you haven't heard
[00:25:11] about it, for healing mind
[00:25:13] body symptoms. And we help you
[00:25:14] understand how to retrain
[00:25:16] your brain, regulate your
[00:25:17] nervous system and express
[00:25:19] emotions to really help the
[00:25:20] root cause of your symptoms,
[00:25:22] which is the dysregulation of
[00:25:24] your nervous system. And if
[00:25:25] you'd like to learn about it,
[00:25:27] if you'd like to join, we are
[00:25:29] open enrollment right now. So

[00:25:47] would mean so much to me if
[00:25:48] you could do these couple
[00:25:49] things. One, go to the heal
